Maintaining the Course when Conflicts Arise

Craig Mansfields
Pastor of First Baptist Church
Kenton, OH
I was born and raised on a farm in Northwest Ohio near Defiance. I became a Christian at a young age and answered the call to pursue full-time ministry in the local church as a sophomore in high school. The Lord would take me to Pensacola where I would meet Portia, my future wife. After college we would go to Akron, OH where I served as a youth pastor for 8 years. God began to tug on my heart to consider a change in ministry. After considering the mission field, God made it clear that a senior pastorate position was the place for me.
In 2000, my wife and I moved to the Kenton, OH area with our 4 children to begin the next leg of the journey as pastor of the First Baptist Church. It has been here we raised our children and have seen them sent out into various areas of the country. We have been blessed to have 3 grandchildren and enjoy every moment we get to spend with them.
Session: “Maintaining the Course when Conflicts Arise,” examining Nehemiah’s conflict resolution skills. Throughout the years of church and family ministry my wife and I have encountered a fair share of conflict. Sometimes there are quick, easy, and clean resolutions while other conflicts are drawn out, difficult, and messy. How does a man continue to stay on course with what God has called him to do when conflicts arise? This is what we will see through the example of Nehemiah.
